Google added wireless charging function to the previously released Pixel 3 series, and released a wireless charger accessory called Pixel Stand, charging power is 10W, Google also designed a special mobile phone UI for the charger.
Unfortunately, Google seems to set limits on the wireless charging capabilities of Pixel 3. Recently, some foreign netizens said that their third-party 10W wireless charger can only achieve 5W charging on Pixel 3.
Specifically, the netizen bought a 10W Anker charger, but after testing it found that the current is only 500 mAh, the maximum power is only 5W, so he asked Anker officially.
Anker officially replied that their engineers found that Google has set a limit for third-party charging accessories for Pixel 3, which can only provide 5W of power. Only Google's official wireless charger supports 10W power.
Contacted the media to verify the evidence, Google said it has limited the power of third-party wireless chargers to 5W for security reasons. The other media think that the snakes are more than enough, because Samsung and Apple's wireless chargers do not have such restrictions.
Interestingly, whether it is 5W or 10W charging, Pixel 3 will display as 'fast charging', so users can't just visually identify whether it is fast charging or slow charging.
