Fast food restaurant Burger Wang Island 42 stores yesterday (October 15th) stopped providing plastic covers and straws for diners.
However, Burger King will still provide plastic covers and straws for the take-away customers, and customers in need can still ask for the straws from the counter service staff.
"New newspaper" reported that Wu Jingyu, general manager of Burger King, said that this can help customers to reconsider whether there is a need to use plastic covers and straws, so that everyone can contribute to environmental protection.
Burger King is not the first fast-food restaurant in the country to stop providing plastic lids and straws. The 84 branches of KFC have implemented this measure in June this year.
