On September 25th, Rogers introduced DeWAL® DW402UV and DW405BNCUV two ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (hereinafter referred to as UHMW-PE) film materials. The material is modified to resist direct sunlight and other forms of UV. The material combines the toughness of UHMW-PE while maintaining unique stability under outdoor UV exposure.
Usually UHMW-PE products do not maintain stability under UV light. In fact, most products degrade if exposed to sunlight and other UV rays for a long time. Rogers' new DeWAL® DW402UV and DW405BNCUV materials are reinforced by fillers. Improves the material's ability to withstand UV damage. At the same time, the improved formulation retains all the key properties of UHMW-PE materials, such as ultra-high wear resistance of steel, coupled with extensive chemical resistance and low coefficient of friction. The above materials become a multifunctional engineering material suitable for a variety of harsh outdoor environments.
These new materials are ideal for challenging applications such as chemicals, fuels and internal and external surfaces of hydraulic hoses. Other applications include linings for parachutes and material handling equipment to reduce friction and wear. Can be used in car weather strips.
Chris Brooks, Senior Product Line Manager at Rogers, said: 'We are pleased to introduce new UV-resistant UHMW-PE materials to address the special challenges of outdoor applications. We want to provide consumers with a solution that can withstand direct sunlight. . '
