The Asian Games is an international comprehensive sports conference for Asian countries or regions. In principle, it is held every four years. The 18th Asian Games will be held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia from August 18th to September 2nd, 2018. .
The system provided by NEC is as follows.
1. Facial recognition system and behavioral awareness system of the main stadium
NEC provided the facial recognition system and behavioral awareness system to the main stadium of the conference, the Gloria Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta. The former applied the facial recognition AI engine 'NeoFace' with the world's No. 1 recognition accuracy. It is possible to detect suspicious persons who have entered the system in advance from the surveillance camera image, and to illegally enter or abandon suspicious items in the no-stop zone. At the same time, NEC also provided support for the system operation during the conference.
The system was built using the Japanese government's grant assistance to the Indonesian government and was supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Public Works and Housing, which is responsible for the maintenance of the infrastructure of the conference.
2. The General Assembly Organizing Committee's General Assembly Operations Basic Network System
NEC provided the basic network system for the operation of the conference, and connected 130 points of the relevant offices of the conference organizing committee INASGOC and all the venues. At the same time, NEC also provided support for the operation of the system during the conference.
3. ICT system of the venue venue
NEC provides surveillance cameras and network systems, telephone exchanges, etc. to the track and field venues, basketball stadiums, baseball fields, softball fields and tennis courts in the Jakarta competition venues.
In addition, following the current Asian Games, NEC also introduced a biometrics program including facial recognition at the ASEAN-Japan Symposium held in Jakarta from September 19th to 20th in Indonesia.
