According to the OLED Association, Skyworth plans to increase its OLED TV module capacity from 30,000 units per year to 1 million units per year. Skyworth has invested US$73 million (about 500 million yuan) in the expansion of the plant.
According to the OLED Association, Skyworth is the world's fourth largest OLED TV brand with a market share of 3.2% in 2017.
In an interview with the media last month, company founder Huang Hongsheng said that Skyworth may invest in OLED TV panel development and production in the next few years in order to better grasp the dominant advantage.
According to industry insiders, Skyworth's OLED TV sales last year were around 50,000 units. Compared with Skyworth's overall sales volume of around 10 million units, OLED TV sales still have a lot of room for improvement.
Huang Hongsheng revealed that Skyworth's goal is to double the sales of OLED TVs by 2020, and then intervene in the upstream screen to produce alone.
