Shanghai, China - September 14, 2018 - TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectivity and sensors, today announced the new 124-bit Sliver internal I/O connector and cable assembly. This high-density solution is available. Supports up to x20 signal transmission channels and 40 differential pairs.
The new 124-bit Sliver connector solution eliminates the need for existing 50- and 74-bit connectors, reducing connector count and enabling better cable management. TE's 124-bit Sliver connector supports PCIe Gen 4/5 Ethernet 56G and SAS-5, the cable assembly supports the PCIe Gen 4 protocol and can be upgraded to meet the performance requirements of the PCIe Gen 5, Ethernet 56G and SAS-5 protocols.
The solution features a GSSG open pin configuration that provides designers with 20 channels that can be flexibly defined for pinouts and can run the x16 PCIe protocol with additional sideband signals or low power. In addition, this 124-bit Sliver Connectors and integrated rail cable products are more rugged than similar products on the market. They are the only medium-board copper cable with plugs and sockets for alignment. When space is limited, the finger can't press the lock button. This design helps to blindly insert and loosen the cable.
