DuPont Tennessee Plant Propylene Glycol Expansion

DuPont Tetralic Bioproducts plans to increase the capacity of the Loudon plant in Tennessee, and its annual production of bio-based 1,3-propanediol is expected to increase by 16,000 tons after expansion.

Construction and construction work will begin immediately, and the completion time is expected to be in the middle of 2019.

DuPont Texel Bioproducts is a joint venture established in 2004 to produce non-petroleum chemicals from plant-based materials, including propylene glycol for polyurethane production. In addition, the company is also selling under the Zemea brand name. Humectants for personal care, pharmaceutical and cleaning applications.
