Due to its thinness and low power consumption, OLED screens are increasingly favored by many high-end flagship models. However, due to high production costs, the popularity of OLED screens is still relatively low.
Now, Panasonic has announced that it will license low-cost OLED panel manufacturing programs, which can save 20% to 30% of its cost compared to current traditional OLED panel manufacturing processes.
Through cost savings, Panasonic hopes that its own OLED panel technology can be used by more manufacturers. In August 2014, a printing OLED manufacturer established by JDI, Sony and Panasonic aims to accelerate the development and commercialization of OLED mass production.
At present, the real overlord in the field of OLED is Korean manufacturers. Japanese manufacturers have been suppressed for too long, but they have already started to fight back. In addition to licensing OLED panel printing programs, Panasonic, JDI, Sharp, etc. have all announced their entry into the OLED screen market, including LG some time ago. Also got Apple's support.
It is believed that in the near future, OLED screens will also appear on more low-end models, and LCD screens may be completely replaced by OLED screens.
