By 2023, Ford said it would invest 4 billion of billions of dollars in its newly established auto-motoring unit, Ford Auto (fordautonomousvehicles), hoping to produce self-driving cars in the next three years.

The US's second-largest carmaker said the new department would include automatic driving system integration, auto research and advanced engineering.

It will compete with many of the models of Google's parent company Alphabet, Waymo, Uber, Tesla (Tesla) and other companies, into lucrative markets.

Ford recently announced a miami-dadecounty with Florida State Miami-Dade County to test the business model of its self-driving cars on Miami and Miami Beach (Miamibeach) streets.

The US's second-largest carmaker said the new department would include automatic driving system integration, auto research and advanced engineering. Since earlier this year, Ford has used Miami as a test ground for self-driving cars.

The car giant has also tried to use the self-driving diners to serve the point of delivery. With touch-sensitive small lockers and access codes, customers can retrieve the food they have ordered. Lockers vary in size to accommodate different types of deliveries.

Audio tips and lighting displays are designed to guide customers to find the right lockers.

The carmaker said it would deploy a fully automated delivery service 2021 years ago.

' Ford has made great strides in the Fordmotorcompany value chain, from technology development to business model innovation to user experience, ' said Hackett Jimhackett, president and chief executive of Ford Motor Company.

' It's a good time to integrate our autopilot platform into a team, ' he said, ' to do business for future opportunities. ' The department will be headed by Vice President Cheriff Malakabi Sherifmarakby, headquartered in Fort Cork (Corktown) park in Detroit, and will hold Ford's stake in Argoai.

Argoai is a partner in Ford's automatic driving system development in Pittsburg. Ford said the 4 billion-dollar investment included the $1 billion investment announced last year in Argoai.

The new company will be steered by Sherifmarakby, who is currently vice president of Ford Motor Company and vice president of the electrification company.

Both Ford and BMW are planning to launch self-driving cars in 2021.

Tesla (Tesla) has talked about building a network of self-driving cars, and Uber said that despite the accident in Arizona, State of its self-driving car, a woman died, but it will stick to research and development. General Motors (GENERALMOTORSCO), America's largest carmaker.

In 2016 it acquired the self-driving car subsidiary cruise (Cruise). "The Evolution of computing power and it has brought customers great products from automobiles to tablets," Hackett said.

'

' We can now use this technology to open a new world of personalized cars, a reduction in supply chain design and inventory, which can compete with any industrial model in the world, ' says Hackett. Hackett said: ' We are looking at every aspect of our business to make it healthier, and to make sure that every action we take is to serve our customers, to keep our health and performance goals.

How do you ' see ' The self-driving car?

Self-driving cars often use a common two-dimensional camera and a deep sensing lidar (LiDAR) device to identify the surrounding world.

In LiDAR (optical detection and Ranging) scans (Waymo Use this technique), one or more lasers emit short pulses that bounce back when they touch an obstacle.

These sensors constantly scan the surrounding area for information, just like the car's ' eyes '.

When these devices provide depth information, their low resolution makes it difficult to detect distant small objects without the help of a normal camera connected to them in real time.

Last November, Apple unveiled detailed information about its unmanned car system, which uses lasers to detect the distance between pedestrians and cyclists.

Apple researchers say that they can detect pedestrians and cyclists on the basis of LIDAR data alone, and have achieved ' very encouraging results '.

They also wrote that they were able to beat other methods of detecting three-dimensional objects using only lidar.

Other self-driving cars usually rely on the combination of cameras, sensors and lasers.

One example is Volvo's self-driving car, which relies on about 28 cameras, sensors and lasers.

The network of computer processing information, together with GPS, generates real-time maps of motion and static objects in the environment.

The 12 ultrasonic sensors around the car identify objects close to the vehicle and support low speed autopilot.

Wave radars and cameras placed on the windshield can read traffic signs and the curvature of the road, and can detect objects on the road, such as other road users.

The four radars behind the front and rear bumpers can also locate objects.

The bumper's two long-range radars are used to detect fast-moving vehicles approaching from afar, which is useful on highways.
