MCNS celebrates the commissioning of its new joint venture polyurethane plant 'MCNS Polyurethanes IndiaP vt.Ltd. (MCNS-IN)' in Sri, Andhra Pradesh, India, and begins commercial operations.
Established in February 2017 with a total investment of US$7.3 million (800 million yen), the new plant will produce and sell polyurethane products.
The factory's production capacity is 15,000 tons / year. Commercial operation began in July 2018. The opening ceremony was held on August 8, 2018.
The factory is a 50:50 joint venture between Mitsui Chemicals and SKC Polyurethanes Co., Ltd., Mitsui Chemicals & SKC Polyurethanes Co., Ltd 'MCNS'.
The facility provides quality service manufacturing and sales facilities, such as tailoring polyurethane foam formulations, including derivatives of polyhydric alcohols to meet the needs of individual customers.
With the opening of the new plant in Sri, MCNS will be able to provide high quality products to its Korean and Japanese customers in India in a stable manner and will expand its supply to Indian companies in the future.
Compared with other countries, India has a high use rate of polyurethane. India produces 4.7 million cars per year, and its polyurethane material is highly used. It is the fifth largest polyurethane user in the world. Manufacturers in Korea and Japan account for the total amount of car production in India. 70%, 50% of total refrigerator production.
