WindDaily was informed that Siemens Gemei, the world's largest wind turbine manufacturer, will focus on cultivating local supply chains in Taiwan.
The cultivation of local wind power suppliers was the first time in Taiwan when bidding, the price was generally high, and it was also met with opposition on the island. The reason why the Taiwan authorities did this is that it is necessary to cultivate a local wind power supply chain.
Siemens Gemei has signed a total of 10 supplier agreements, including six world-class wind power suppliers and four Taiwanese local companies.
Siemens Andreas Nauen, CEO of Offshore Wind Power, said that the Taiwan authorities are ambitious at sea. As the world's largest offshore wind turbine manufacturer, Siemens Gemei is willing to introduce the world's leading concepts and supply chain to the local market and promote the development of wind power in Taiwan.
