According to statistics from Standard & Poor's global Platts, European styrene spot prices soared to a two-month high on Thursday, and the main reason for the sharp rise in styrene prices in Europe was production.
The spot price of styrene for 5-30 days was estimated at $1,371 per ton FOB ARA on Thursday, which was a sharp increase of $53 per ton and hit a two-month high.
Although Platts did not fully confirm any details, the source said there was a production problem here.
On Thursday, the spot price of styrene in August reached $1,370 per ton.
Also on Thursday, European August styrene contract prices have been fully stabilized at 1315 euros per ton, up 20 euros per ton, which is higher than industry expectations.
According to market sources, the US plant problem of West Lake Chemical Company, the largest manufacturer of low-density polyethylene in the United States, and the rise in styrene prices in Asia also supported the rise in European styrene prices.
