Solvay, German aircraft parts manufacturer Premium AEROTEC and Faurecia Clean Mobility announced on August 2 that the IRG CosiMo (Sustainable Fluid Composites) alliance is a composite. The industry's first research alliance, formed by a private-sector consortium, focuses on the development of materials and process technologies required for large-scale production of thermoplastic composites in the aerospace and automotive markets.
Through a three-year agreement, Solvay, Premium AEROTEC and Faurecia Green Motion Systems will combine the expertise, capabilities and resources of the three parties to provide solutions for the sustainable mobile sector. Rhythm and accelerated industrial upgrading in the automotive and aerospace sectors are the focus of the alliance.
At the same time, Premium AEROTEC and Faurecia Green Motion Systems are also participating in the 'Campus Carbon 4.0 Project' project alliance (CC4.0 CosiMo), which will be launched in Bavaria, Bavaria, Germany. The project is sponsored by the public. In the development of new materials and processes for the in situ polymerization of caprolactam into PA6, in large quantities in the automotive sector.
The formation of the IRG CosiMo Alliance is an extension of the CC4.0 CosiMo Alliance, with the aim of developing a wider range of thermoplastic materials and processes. As a partner of IRG CosiMo, the Augsburg Institute of Textile Technology (ITA Augsburg) will carry out the alliance. Work hosting and project management, coordination of scientific research plans, and processing of equipment for processing ribbon and grid thermoplastic composites.
