The dual-mode SM2270 is a complete SSD control chip solution with custom firmware to support customers' Open-Channel-based applications, as well as Turnkey firmware to support the standard NVMe protocol. In either mode, the SM2270 manages Technology delivers ultra-high performance in high-density, multi-tenant data center applications, ensuring low latency and increasing storage capacity.
The control chip meets the following specifications:
PCIe Gen 3 x 8 lanes, support for standard NVMe 1.3 protocols Support for Open-Channel implementations such as Microsoft Denali 16 NAND flash lanes and up to 16TB SSD capacity Powerful triple dual-core Arm® Cortex®-R5 architecture, support Ultra-high data throughput rates 4KB random read operations up to 800,000 IOPS Support for the latest 3D NAND from any major NAND manufacturer, including 96-layer TLC and QLC flash
In addition, by integrating advanced NAND monitoring and protection technologies, the SM2270 ensures long-term, stable data storage and retrieval, even under extreme operating conditions, including:
Power-off protection to eliminate the risk of data loss due to unexpected power outages. 6th generation NANDXtendTM technology, incorporating Huirong's patented high-performance LDPC error correction code (ECC) engine and RAID machine learning algorithms, even in extreme operations Better data integrity is also guaranteed in the environment. End-to-end data path protection, applying ECC to SSD SRAM and DRAM cache and NAND flash. Transferring data between host and SSD and between cache and NAND flash When you can guarantee the integrity of all data.
The SM2270 is available and in production, and Huirong Technology will be on display at the Flash Summit (August 7-9, 2018, Santa Clara, CA, USA) Booth #413.
