Recently, the German-based renewable energy company IBC Solar announced that it will provide photovoltaic systems for two industrial companies in Lebanon.
One of them is Al-Kazzi, a company that produces nuts and baked goods. The 163kW system is located at the new plant in Hsoun (CAZA Byblos). It uses 615 IBC PolySol 265CS modules and IBCTop Fix 200 mounting system. This is a diesel hybrid system. The energy generation of the photovoltaic system can be synchronized with the diesel generator set during the day.
Another Woody plant in Halat near the Mediterranean, this 75kW system uses 285 IBC Poly Sol265CS modules and TopFix200 Delta Support installations.
The Senior Vice President of Solutions International said that 'the combination of high solar radiation and attractive national funding schemes such as the Lebanese green loan will make the future Middle East and North Africa countries a key solar market.'
Lebanon recently called for the use of battery storage in the 300 MW grid-connected battery project in Lebanon, which is currently oversubscribed 25 times.
