Wang Bohua: The global PV market will continue to maintain steady growth momentum

On July 26th, the photovoltaic industry's development review in the first half of 2018 and the second half of the situation outlook seminar were held in Beijing. Wang Bohua, vice chairman and secretary general of China Photovoltaic Industry Association, pointed out that after the May 31 new policy, PV companies will face greater pressure. However, the market potential is still huge, and it is necessary to work hard to promote the net access to the Internet.

According to Wang Bohua's introduction, in the first half of this year, polysilicon production exceeded 140,000 tons, import volume was 67,000 tons, self-sufficiency rate increased continuously, reaching 68%; wafer production exceeded 50GW, an increase of about 39%, of which exports exceeded 12GW; The output of the film is about 39GW, an increase of about 22%; the output of the module is about 42GW, and the export volume is about 19GW, which is more than 25% year-on-year.

At the market level, the domestic new installed capacity was about 24GW in the first half of the year, which was basically the same as that of the same period of last year. Among them, the distributed growth was rapid, and the installed capacity was about 12GW, which was nearly 70% year-on-year. Wang Bohua said that he benefited from the continuous decline of cost and the expectation of domestic quota system. The investment willingness of photovoltaic power plants continued to increase. Even under the constraints of 5.31, the installed capacity in the first half of the year was still not inferior to last year.

In terms of foreign trade, in the first half of this year, the export of photovoltaic products increased rapidly. From January to May, the total export volume of solar cells and modules reached 5.513 billion US dollars, up 21.2% year-on-year. Among them, the export value of components was 5.16 billion yuan, and the export volume was about 16-17GW. Wang Bohua said that the domestic market demand has weakened, and the expansion of overseas emerging markets has boosted export demand. As the export volume has increased by more than 30%, the price has dropped by nearly 30% in the half year, while the export volume has increased by more than 20%.

It is worth noting that since the beginning of this year, the concentration of China's PV product export market has continued to decrease. Wang Bohua said that in terms of export distribution, the main export markets such as India and Japan have been declining, in contrast. The flowering situation of the emerging markets is expanding.

In the field of technology, China's photovoltaic technology has advanced by leaps and bounds, and all kinds of new technologies have emerged in polycrystalline silicon, silicon wafers, cell sheets, components and new batteries. Among them, the efficiency of perovskite cells developed by semiconductors has reached 23.3%, setting a new world. Record.

Regarding the future trend, Wang Bohua said that from the analysis of the time scale of the year, the domestic market is still not small, the photovoltaic industry should continue to have confidence in the domestic market; from a global perspective, the cost of photovoltaic power generation is declining, already in multiple The country and the region are lower than conventional energy sources, and the photovoltaic market is being stimulated. It is expected that the global market will remain stable or even growing. From the perspective of high-quality development, the domestic PV industry needs to change from pursuing scale and speed to quality and efficiency. Towards digitalization, networking, and intelligent development, system integration needs to be driven by innovation, diversification towards application, and power stations should explore models such as wall sales.

Wang Bohua pointed out that the photovoltaic industry is one of the few in China, and it can participate in international competition simultaneously. It has a leading industrialization industry. At the same time, the photovoltaic industry has good fundamentals and great development potential. The support at the national level is unwavering. For the industry shock brought by the New Deal, Wang Bohua said that after the introduction of the May 31 new policy, the market demand will drop rapidly. In the short term, enterprises will face greater pressure. Photovoltaic enterprises should work hard to develop their internal strengths and develop from the extensive development. Advance the parity Internet access as soon as possible.
