Introducing KBR technology to Pingma Shenma 800,000 tons PC project

Recently, China Pingmei Shenma Group and US KBR signed a contract in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, to introduce KBR technology to build a 800,000 tons/year phosgene polycarbonate (PC) project.

At the signing ceremony, the relevant person in charge of Pingmei Shenma Group introduced that each 100,000 tons of PC can consume 34,000 tons of chlorine gas, 49,000 tons of polybasic caustic soda, and 0.9 million tons of high-purity hydrochloric acid, which can help chlor-alkali enterprises enhance the utilization of by-products. And change the current domestic chlor-alkali enterprises rely solely on the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to consume chlorine. This technology transfer can further improve the economic efficiency and market competitiveness of China Pingmei Shenma Group salt chemical enterprises.

Li Tao, director of Henan State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Liang Tieshan, party secretary and chairman of China Pingmei Shenma Group, general manager Yang Jianguo, John Derbyshire, global technology president of KBR, Rik Klavers, vice president of technology, and Yang Dajun, general manager of China, attended the signing ceremony.
