Starting from July 1, China Unicom, China Mobile will officially begin the implementation of the system for canceling traffic roaming charges, and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology is urging the three major operators to continue to do the work of speeding up and reducing fees.
The official notice given by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology today shows that 780 million households will benefit from the cancellation of traffic 'roaming' fees, and this year must implement the goal of reducing mobile traffic tariffs by 30%, and household broadband and corporate private line usage fees will also be reduced. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also stressed that it will continue to create a good competitive environment and encourage several operating companies to continually tap potential and increase efficiency, laying the foundation for cost reduction.
According to the development of the industry and telecommunications industry announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the average tariff for mobile traffic in the first half of the year was 46.2% lower than that at the end of 2017. At the end of June, fixed broadband subscribers reached 375 million, of which 53.4% of users with 100Mbps and above reached 53.4%, up 13.5 from the beginning of the year. Percentage points, fiber access users accounted for 86.7% of the total number of fixed broadband users.
In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also said that if the three operators of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom are not in place to speed up the fee reduction, they can also complain to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology at any time, and then deal with them seriously, thus protecting the rights and interests of users.
