Sony released 48 million pixel mobile phone CMOS IMX586: Support 4K 90FPS

On the afternoon of July 23, Sony released a new stacked CMOS, IMX586, for smartphone platforms.

The IMX586 has 48 million effective pixels and a resolution of 8000x6000, which is the highest in the industry. Other specifications, the sensor 1/2 inch, the unit pixel 0.8μm is also the world's first.

For video recording, the IM586 supports up to 4K 90FPS, and slow motion tracking frames can go up to 720P 480FPS.

According to Sony, the IMX586 uses a Quad Bayer array for pixel arrangement. It can be illuminated with four pixels in a dark environment (equivalent to 12 million pixels), which reduces noise and improves brightness.

Seeing this, many friends may have thought of the 40-megapixel IMX600 on Huawei P20 Pro, which is also a large pixel, Quad Bayer array. However, the IMX600 sensor is larger (1/1.73), and the single pixel is larger. Integrated DRAM can achieve 960FPS slow motion.

It is reported that the IMX586 tax-included price is 3,000 yen, about 183 yuan, starting shipping in September.
