They started their first Apple store in Singapore last year and also added Singapore's public transport information to Apple Maps. itunes fraud deal exposed: Apple says it is investigating

According to the Singapore Media ' Asia news station ' website, a number of Singaporean Apple users said they had a suspected theft of credit cards.

These users received hundreds of dollars of Apple itunes bills, but they did not actually make these deals on itunes. Two users said to the media that each of them had lost at least 7000 dollars. One of the users disclosed that her bill was sent by HSBC, and she revealed that she realised there was a problem when she received a message from HSBC that she had only 30% of her credit card available.

After talking to a credit card service representative, she learned about the theft of her credit card and the seriousness of the problem. Some aggrieved users said the amounts were deducted from the accounts of DBS and the Overseas Chinese Bank (OCBC) in Singapore.

According to the Overseas Chinese bank, only one of the bank, 58 fraud transactions occurred in July this year. "We monitored and surveyed 58 cardholder accounts at the beginning of July this year, and these accounts are trading anomalies," said Vincent Tan, head of the credit card department at Vincent Tan, the Singapore overseas Chinese Bank. After confirming that these transactions were fraudulent, we have deployed the necessary precautions and are currently providing assistance to the affected cardholders and are taking the refund process.

' The Bank of UOB said it had increased its monitoring of itunes trading last week. "When our system detects a potential fraudulent transaction, we will call the customer immediately and verify the transaction with the other party," the bank said. ' The bank also said that if customers ' credit cards were fraudulently traded, they would be able to help customers refund after verification.

In addition, to enhance security, they will also issue a new credit card for the customer. If the user's phone cannot be dialed when a potential fraudulent transaction is detected, the bank will send a message to the customer.

They will also temporarily freeze the customer's bank account number to avoid loss of customer assets. In the case of these events, Apple Singapore said it was currently investigating the fraudulent transactions and had canceled the deals and refunded several of the users.

In practice, however, not all affected users have received refunds. In recent years, Apple has struggled to develop in the Singapore market.
