STMicroelectronics' new high-performance STM32 product line drives innovation in IoT devices

The STM32F7x0 and H7x0 Value Line Microcontrollers (MCUs), the newest addition to STMicroelectronics' STM32* product family, will provide developers with greater flexibility. This family of products is ideal for development-oriented, performance-oriented real-time The IoT device application system does not affect the function or network security of the target application.

These new product lines streamline the embedded flash function, retaining only the most basic and important configurations, but still safely running secure boot code, sensitive code and real-time routines on-chip, allowing embedded flash memory access times to be faster than external flash memory. More than enough advantage (in the case of cache failure). When necessary, designers can extend the application in two ways. The first method is to add an off-chip serial or parallel (up to 32-bit) memory. The advantages of on-chip various external interfaces and in-place execution (XiP) functions. The second method is to port the application code to the pin-compatible STM32F7 or STM32H7 series. These two series have built-in up to 2Mbyte of flash memory and 1Mbyte of RAM. The same ecosystem and easy to use development tools.

The new value line retains the power of STM32F7 and STM32H7, such as state-of-the-art peripherals, hardware accelerators, and real-time architecture with ultra-fast internal bus, short interrupt latency, fast start (~1ms) and more. Power mode, gated power domain and on-chip power management technology simplify design, reduce bill of materials costs, and keep new microcontrollers energy efficient.

In a secure, energy-efficient architecture, the CoreMark® performance test for new value-for-money microcontrollers scores 2020, making it an entry point for IoT innovation in medical, industrial, consumer and other applications. Due to the highest operating junction temperature of 125°C Even if the ambient temperature rises, the performance of the processor core and peripherals can still be maximized.

The entry-level STM32F730 integrates ST's unique ART AcceleratorTM memory acceleration technology that performs zero-wait cycles in flash memory. At 216MHz, the CoreMark benchmark scores 1082 points. Peripheral interfaces include cryptographic hardware accelerators, one with PHY USB 2.0 high-speed port, one CAN interface. On-chip memory includes 64KB of flash memory; 8KByte instruction and 8KByte data cache for high-performance access to internal or external memory; 256KB system RAM; 16kB + for performing the most critical routines and data 64KB TCM (Tightly Coupled Memory).

The STM32F750 adds a TFT-LCD display controller that integrates STMicroelectronics' unique Chrom-ARTTM graphics accelerator. On-chip features include a hash algorithm hardware accelerator; two CAN interfaces; an Ethernet MAC controller; a camera interface; Full-speed PHY USB 2.0 interface; 64K byte flash; 4Kbyte instruction cache; 4Kbyte data cache; 320KB system RAM; 6kB + 64KB TCM.

The high-end STM32H750 scores 2020 points at 400MHz CoreMark, and adds a hardware JPEG encoder/decoder to the TFT controller and Chrom-ART accelerator for faster GUI graphics performance. The peripheral interface includes a CANFD port. Built-in time-triggered function and additional CANFD port for best-in-class op amps; 16-bit ADC running at up to 3.6Msample / s. On-chip memory includes 128KB of flash memory, 16KB instruction cache, 16KB data cache, 864KB system RAM and 64kB + 128KB The TCMs all have an ECC (Error Correcting Code) function for secure execution of code in internal or external memory.

The STM32F730, STM32F750 and STM32H750 Value Line microcontrollers are available in a variety of LQFP and BGA packages from 64-pin to 240-pin.
