Omron Suzhou factory closed on July 16

According to the micro-network news, on July 16, the Japanese company Omron Precision Electronics Co., Ltd. announced that it announced that the Omron Suzhou plant will enter the final permanent shutdown and will be resettled from July 16. This is in January 2017. After Seagate closed the Suzhou factory, another Japanese company chose to leave.

It is understood that it was jointly invested by Omron Precision Technology Co., Ltd. and Omron (China) Co., Ltd., with a factory area of 30,000 square meters and a production plant area of about 7,000 square meters.

Omron Suzhou's main business scope is the design and production of optoelectronic devices such as LCD backlights, sales of self-produced products and related technology and after-sales service. The company's products are mainly used in car, PC, mobile phones and other small and medium-sized products of color LCD backlight. In recent years, with the sudden changes in the smartphone market, Omron Japan has to make relevant adjustments to its operations. Now, after studying the company's shareholders, it decided to dissolve the company in advance.

It is said that this is because Omron mainly uses LCD backlights. Now the low-end market is occupied by mainland manufacturers. The high-end market is replaced by OLEDs. OLED self-illumination does not require backlights. It is difficult for Omron backlight business to continue.
