Boeing sets up new department | Promotes early commercial use of automatic flying cars

Boeing has set up a new division within the company today, hoping to explore business opportunities in the fast-growing auto-flying car market. Boeing is currently trying to build automated flying vehicles, while also addressing air traffic control and ground infrastructure issues. The 'Boeing NeXt' division was established to work with external companies to solve related problems.

Boeing Chief Technology Officer Greg Hyslop said that Boeing has enough expertise to deploy this new technology safely and effectively.

Heathlop said: 'The development of these flying vehicles will start in the next few years, and the traffic must be multi-modal. The market is on the rise. This is why we set up this new department. We have to solve related problems.'

In fact, Boeing has been advocating auto-flight cars since the acquisition of Aurora Flight Sciences, an unmanned aerial vehicle and aerospace component manufacturer last year. It is reported that Aurora Flight Sciences plans to test flying cars in Dubai and Dallas in 2020.

At the same time, European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is also developing a 'flight car' and plans to fly first at the end of this year. According to Airbus' plan, the mass production prototype will be determined by 2020, and it will be put into use within 10 years.
