July 16, 2018, Cleveland, USA-Lubrizol's Engineering polymer Business Department announces the upgrading of its adhesives with Pearlstick thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) performance.
Pearlstick TPU is a substitute for poly (vinyl chloride) resin footwear and DIY terminal applications. The binder formulations of Pearlstick 45-80/16 TPU and other similar Pearlstick products can be used as a preferred substitute for poly (vinyl chloride) resins to provide equal or even better performance.
Due to the longer opening time and the contact adhesive at room temperature in the preparation of adhesives, Pearlstick has brought about improved processing and cost-effectiveness. Because of the processing, Lubrizol thermoplastic polyurethane adhesives can be coated on only one base surface, but not in the same way as a poly-vinyl chloride resin, to be coated on the surface of two glued objects to achieve final adhesion. Pearlstick TPU offers a wider range of bonding possibilities for a variety of materials.
They also provide very low crystallization rate, good heat resistance and peel strength. EMEAI Engineering Polymer Regional business director, Jesus Santamaria, said: ' Our customers have been looking to provide a flexible and cost-effective viscous solution to make contact adhesives, while Lubrizol's Pearlstick TPU provides high-performance product features and strong, integrated technology to meet customer needs.
