Siemens wins big order for Vietnam PV park

Siemens said in a statement that the company has received a contract to supply equipment and commissioning to a 258MW solar photovoltaic power station in Vietnam's Trung Nam Group. This is Siemens' first photovoltaic project in Southeast Asia.

This equipment order includes inverters, power and distribution transformers, gas-insulated medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers and monitoring systems, etc. The contract amount is approximately 15 million Euros.

Ninh Thuan Province is located in the south-central coastal region of Vietnam and has the best solar conditions in the country.

According to Siemens, the photovoltaic park is located in Ninh Tuan, southern Vietnam, and is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. The park will be equipped with a 1500V combined DC voltage solar module. The inverter will convert the DC power to 660V AC, after which the transformer will It was upgraded to 33KV for the first time and eventually reached 220KV. The necessary components for upgrading to 33KV have been designed as 'Plug and Play MV Power Station', so it can be installed as a single unit without spending a lot of construction.

The solar power generated by this power station will be fed into the high-voltage power grid and transmitted to the whole country. After the project is completed, it is expected to generate 425GWh of electricity per year.

Vietnam has announced at least six large-scale ground-based solar PV projects this year, including two 300MW solar power plants from Grimm Power and Xuan Cau in Tay Ninh, a 168MW Sunseap project in Ninh Thuan province, and Sterling & Wilson plans to install next year. A 300MW project.

At the same time, JA Solar announced last week that it has secured a $68.4 million long-term buyer credit for the manufacturing of its 1.5 GW wafer fab in Vietnam; Ecoprogetti says it has completed Order for the country's 250 MW PV production line. It is expected to install this glass backplane production line in June 2018.
