The two sides agreed to jointly establish a Sino-German Smart Manufacturing Technology Innovation Cooperation Alliance (hereinafter referred to as the Cooperation Alliance) and take concrete measures to jointly carry out research, development and related activities, such as demonstration, education and standardization of innovation results. The "Declaration" is a further organization and implementation of the "Intention Statement of Intelligent Manufacturing (Industry 4.0) and Intelligent Services in the Field of Bilateral Science and Technology Cooperation to Develop and Promote Innovative Solutions" signed by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in January 2016. In the past two years, under the direct guidance of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Key Infrastructure Division of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Institute has actively prepared and built a Sino-German smart manufacturing technology innovation cooperation platform. In January 2017, Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing was held in Beijing.
