Polyandel Basel joint venture Jumeilai Co., Ltd. announced that it will establish a joint venture with SK in Ulsan, South Korea to build a 400,000 t/y polypropylene plant. The project will be opened in January 2019. It is planned to start operations in the first half of 2021.
According to Lyondell Basel, the new polypropylene plant will use Lyondell Basel's industry-leading Spheripol technology. The polypropylene produced is mainly exported to South Korea and exported to Asia for automotive parts, injection molding, blow molding. And packaging film.
Jumeilai is one of the world's largest plastics, chemicals and refining companies. It is a 50% joint venture between Lyondell Basel and South Korean construction and petrochemical company Daelim.
