In 2018, the traditional graphics card manufacturer GALAXY continued to exert its strength in storage, especially in the middle and high-end memory. It has released a number of new products in the Hall of Fame and GAMER series, and has undergone a comprehensive upgrade from appearance to performance.
According to the official news of GALAXY, HOF Extreme series memory, HOF II DDR4 memory under full air cooling, respectively overclocked to 4800MHz, 4700MHz, and successfully passed the stability aging test.
In the test, HOF Extreme memory is 8GB each, with MSI Z370I Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard, Intel i7-8700K processor, memory frequency 4800MHz, voltage 1.5V, can pass the stability test.
The memory frequency is added to 4933MHz, the voltage is kept at 1.5V, and the AIDA64 bandwidth light load test can be run.
The memory frequency continues to be added to 5000MHz, and the voltage is also added to 1.6V, which still enters the system.
HOF II DDR4 memory is also two 8GB each, with ASUS ROG Maximus X Apex motherboard, Intel i7-8086K processor for testing, memory frequency 4700MHz, voltage 1.5V, can pass the stability test.
It is reported that during the development of HOF Extreme, HOF II DDR4 memory, GALAXY has considered overclocking from the beginning, and has done a lot of special design for this. HOF II DDR4 memory PCB circuit design, the distance between the particles and the gold finger is greatly shortened, the actual test found that this can bring better overclocking performance, the increase can reach 300-400MHz.
However, this design is the first time in the industry. Motherboard manufacturers need a certain amount of time to optimize the BIOS of the motherboard. Therefore, at the beginning of the release, the overclocking of HOF II has been limited.
Now the two memories successfully passed the stability aging test in the high frequency state, indicating that the motherboard manufacturers including ASUS, MSI have completed the BIOS update optimization for the new memory, and ordinary players can enjoy the high frequency of 4700MHz+.
