US chip company ADI and Baidu: developing driverless technology

Analog Devices will work with Baidu to develop sensing and navigation applications for radar and lidar for the Apollo project.

After several years of internal development, Baidu decided last year to open its autopilot technology to third parties, promote technology development, and better compete with US companies such as Google and Tesla.

Analog Devices said the partnership will focus on providing solutions for 'smart connections that are critical to the future of smart transportation'.

Earlier in the day, BMW also signed an agreement to join Baidu's 'Apollo project'.
