This week, some former Intel employees broke the news on Twitter, Intel will cut off the brand of Extreme Edition processor. After the news spread, Intel also gave an official response saying 'There is no change to the branding of the Intel Core Extreme Edition processor and Intel Core X-series processor family (Intel Core Extreme Edition processor and Core X processor family have no brand changes).

The so-called Extreme Edition, in recent years, mainly appeared on the top model of the fever platform HEDT. After Intel released Core X last year, the i9-7980XE still bears the title of i9-7980XE Extreme Edition processor. There are i7-6950X/5960X processor Extreme Edition and so on.

At present, the price of the Bank of China i9-7980XE is 14,999 yuan, belonging to the Skylake-X family, designed for 18 cores and 36 threads, with a base frequency of 2.6GHz.
