Bosch, Daimler driverless car will adopt the NVIDIA AI platform

On the morning of July 11th, Beijing time, Daimler and Bosch announced that they will use NVIDIA's Drive Pegasus artificial intelligence platform in driverless taxis.

Driverless cars require strong computing power, so most of the cars tested on the road have PCs in the trunk, which not only takes up space, but also consumes electricity and generates heat. Because of this, Daimler and Bosch only Decided to use NVIDIA's system.

NVIDIA's system can run 320 trillion times per second. Industry companies hope that this computing power is enough to support a 4 or 5 driverless car.

Daimler and Bosch announced in April that they will cooperate in the development of driverless taxis. The two companies said at the time that they hoped they could get on the road within five years. From the latest news, the plan is going well.

According to their plan, the first car using the NVIDIA artificial intelligence platform will be tested on the Silicon Valley in the second half of 2019, possibly Mercedes-Benz S-Class and V-Class. The two companies are still negotiating with the city management department. Will announce the specific location.

In addition to providing an unmanned artificial intelligence platform, NVIDIA will work with Bosch and Daimler to develop the systems necessary for driverless car service. During the testing phase, these cars will travel exactly in accordance with the preset path.
