In 2018, Intel encountered difficulties in the processor roadmap. The core problem is that the 10nm process is difficult to produce. Intel has to continue to use the 14nm process for another year. Officially stated that the 10nm process will not be mass-produced by the end of 2019, which means that Intel's processors are still 14nm process before 2020, from server chips to desktop chips to mobile chips, ultra-low-power chips, 14nm is still Intel's Main, 10nm will wait another year.
There is no 10nm process support, but Intel's processor still needs to be updated. Twitter user Dayman made an Intel 2018-2020 processor roadmap. Let's see how Intel's processor will be in the next year and a half. Upgrade and evolve.
From the high end to the low end:
The first is the SP series processor in the server market. It is currently the Skylake-SP processor. It is the Cascade Lake-SP series after Q3 this year. It will be Copper Lake-SP after Q3 next year and 10nm in Q3 2020. Icelake-SP processor.
In the Core X series, now Skylake-X, Kaby Lake-X, Cascade Lake-X after Q4, Copper Lake-X after Q4 next year, Icelake-X in Q4 2020.
For the desktop S series, now is the Coffee Lake-S, according to the previous 8 core or coffee lake-s architecture, but will become the 9th generation Core, after the 2019 Q4 quarter there will be 10nm process Icelake- S, 2020 Q4 will have the third generation 10nm processor Tiger Lake-S.
Among the mobile processors, the H high-performance series is now Coffee Lake-H, which will be the Coffee Lake Refresh H series in the Q1 quarter of next year and the Icelake-H 45W series in the Q2 quarter of 2020.
In the low-power U series, the 15W series will have Wiskey Lake-U this year, and will upgrade to the 10nm process Icelake-U in the Q3 quarter of 2019, and Tigger Lake-U in the Q3 2020.
In the 28W series, Coffee Lake-U will be replaced by Commet Lake-U in the Q2 quarter of next year, and then replaced by Tiger Lake-U in the Q2 quarter of 2020.
In the Y series, Kaby lake-Y is available, Amber Lake-Y will be replaced in Q3 quarter, Icelake-Y will be in Q3 next year, and Tigger Lake-Y will be in Q3 2020.
In the Atom product line, the current Gemini Lake follow-up products are still unclear. The next generation is Jasper Lake, which will be in the Q1 quarter of 2020.
