Domestic manufacturers showcase the world's brightest MicroLED display: 1 million nits

MicroLED is the latest direction of the industry's screen technology. Compared with OLED, its LED unit is less than 100μm, which solves the problem of burn-in screen and has a longer life. At the same time, the module thickness can be thinner, lower power consumption, brightness, screen response. Time, resolution, and display effects are also far superior to OLED.

Samsung, LG, TSMC, etc. have shifted the focus of next-step technology exploration to MicroLED. At SID Display Week in June, Jade Bird Display (JBD) from Hong Kong showed the world's brightest MicroLED display, up to 1 million nits, resolution is 2560x1920.

Another piece of MicroLED screen that is playing Kung Fu Panda has a fineness of 5000 PPI and a brightness of 1000 nits.

According to JBD CEO, the ultra-bright MicroLED will be used in the fields of lithography, 3D printing, projectors, head-up display (HUD) and augmented reality (AR).

In terms of commercial progress, it is already possible to produce on a wafer basis, but it will take a lot of effort to mass produce and price 10 to 20 dollars.
