Korean operators release lipstick-type self-defense IoT devices

According to South Korea's Yonhap News Agency, South Korean operator SK Telecom said on Thursday that they have begun selling a self-defense IoT device called 'My Hero'.

The 'My Hero' design is similar to a lipstick, only 8 cm high, and can be easily carried. SK says it is more portable and concealed than other types of self-defense products on the market.

In an emergency, when the user pulls out the red, 'My Hero' can sound a 90 decibel alarm and automatically notify the police. It can also notify the user of up to 5 pre-assigned phone numbers.

SK said that 'My Hero' can also record the situation within 3 minutes as a potential investigation.

As for the price, 'My Hero' is priced at 25,000 won (about 148 yuan).
