Passive components out of stock | Assembly plant raises the cost of foundry

Quanta, Compal, Heshuo, Inventec and Wistron and other assembly plants all said that their production lines are not subject to tight supply of passive components and shut down. Some assembly plants have begun to reflect the rising cost of parts to brand customers through price increases. , or by changing the design to reduce the number of passive components used to reduce the impact.

Inventec Chairman Zhuo Tonghua said that Inventec has a good relationship with passive component suppliers and can get the goods. Inventec General Manager He Daishui said that Inventec has never been disconnected due to lack of material. All the things that the system assembly factory does not allow will not happen.

Chen Ruicong, general manager of Compal, said that the price adjustment will be implemented in the third quarter to reflect the cost of the components. The second season of Compal has continued to communicate with customers to reflect the cost, considering that there is another wave of passive components in July. The price adjustment is expected to be implemented in the third quarter.

Chen Ruicong said that most customers are willing to accept price increases, and a small number of customers do not agree to adjust. Compal can only supply 60% of the supply. Now passive components are going to the spot market to transfer goods. If customers are willing to subsidize rising prices, Compal Will go to the spot market to get the goods.

Wistron said that it has been designed to reduce costs, such as the number of MLCCs used, and the design can be reduced by one-third to one-half.

Both Quanta and Heshuo said that they have long-term cooperation with suppliers, and the relationship is good. The number of them used is also large and unaffected. In particular, Heshuo has already made strategic preparations in Japan before preparing for the second half of the season.

As passive components soar, downstream products begin to reflect the rising cost of components, whether it further affects the downstream consumer market demand? Passive component manufacturers generally believe that the passive component price is not high, although there have been several price increases since last year, but relative terminal products Cost and selling price, the proportion of cost is limited.

Hua Xinke said that taking mobile phones as an example, even if it really reflects the rising cost of passive components, in the case of a medium-to-high-end mobile phone, it is only a matter of adding NT$10, and it does not think it will affect the market demand.
