On June 12 this year, the State Drug Administration and the General Administration of Customs jointly issued the "Notice on the Establishment of Changsha Air Port as a Drug Import Port", agreeing to add Changsha Air Port as a drug import port, and increasing the Hunan Food and Drug Administration. The Port Drug Administration has increased the Hunan Provincial Institute of Drug Control as a port drug inspection institute. Thus, among the more than 300 prefecture-level cities in the country, Changsha has become the 22nd city with a drug import port.
Yang Zhongwan, director of the provincial government port office, said that with the drug import port, imported drugs can be directly transported from abroad to the Changsha air port for customs declaration and inspection, without the need to borrow other ports and then sell to Changsha, which will directly drive the growth of Hunan's import trade. .
'As a major province for the import of imported drugs, Hunan’s total drug sales last year was 109.3 billion yuan, of which 37.9 billion yuan was imported. With the increase in online shopping and overseas purchasing of imported drugs, the number of counterfeit and inferior drugs has increased. Liu Xiangling, director of the Food and Drug Administration, said that the establishment of the Changsha drug import port can reduce the import of drugs and semi-finished products, intermediate links between raw and auxiliary materials, ease the problem of expensive and slower use of imported drugs, and also help strengthen the safety supervision of drugs.
'The drug is light in weight and high in value, and it is a typical airport-oriented product.' Qiu Jixing, deputy mayor of Changsha City, said that after the drug import port is completed, it will significantly reduce transportation costs, storage costs and time costs, and attract high-end health medicine industry. It is understood that Hunan Province has applied for the establishment of designated ports for import since 2012. At present, it has been approved to approve nine import designated ports.
