Bio-on is the first special 100% biodegradable bioplastics production plant

Bio-on, a leading company in the bioplastics industry, today announced the launch of its first plant, designed for the production of 100% natural and biodegradable special bioplastic products for high value-added niche markets such as the cosmetics industry. Used microbeads.

'We are very proud.' Bio-on Chairman and CEO Marco Astorri explained, 'Because this factory demonstrates Italian excellence, it is the beginning of a new era in the global green chemical industry. Starting today, by using us Bioplastics, many companies will have the opportunity to protect the environment and provide eco-certification for their products to meet stricter restrictions on the use of traditional plastics.'

The new production centre is located in Castel San Pietro Terme, outside Bologna. It covers an area of about 30,000 square meters and currently has a production capacity of 1,000 tons per year and can be doubled in a short time. The plant is equipped with the latest technology and the most advanced. Research laboratory.

'We are very pleased that since the foundation of the first stone in March 2017, we have been following the planned time nodes and keeping our commitment to the market. 'Marc Astorri said, 'Like all complex industrial plants, this new one The production center is undergoing a series of tests before it is fully operational in the fall.

'The entire production cycle is run through the innovative control room at the heart of the plant,' explains Riccardo Casoni, general manager of the Bio-on plant, 'and that's where the entire industrial process is tested before it is officially put into production around the clock.'

The first product produced at the Castel San Pietro Terme plant will be Minerv Bio Cosmetics, a bioplastic microbead used in cosmetics to replace the harmful, non-biodegradable oil-based plastic particles currently in use.

These microplastic particles are widely used as thickeners or stabilizers in lipsticks, lip glosses, mascaras, eyeliners, nail polishes, creams, shampoos, foam baths, and even toothpaste. Their environmental pollution will become natural. A permanent part of the cycle, after a single wash, the rivers and marine plankton swallow these plastic particles and introduce them into the food chain. The United States thus became the first to ban the use of oily polymers in body care products and introduce them into the law. Countries with no microspheres in 2015. Some countries, such as Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden and France, have recently followed suit, while other countries, such as Ireland, the Netherlands, and Italy, have announced that they will do so. In cosmetics. Bioplastics can eliminate these contaminants because the microparticles of bioplastics are naturally biodegradable in water.
