Samsung AMOLED screen overcapacity: domestic machine spring is coming

Apple's iPhone X used the AMOLED screen for the first time, all provided by Samsung Display. Apple planned to produce 100 million iPhone X in the early days. Samsung Display added multiple production lines to expand production capacity, only to meet Apple's needs.

However, since the launch of the iPhone X, the sales have been sluggish. Many consumers have been unable to get enough sales because of their high selling prices. Apple has also reduced the amount of purchases and cut more than half of the plan. This makes Samsung Display difficult to accept.

Currently Samsung's AMOLED screen has experienced overcapacity and prices have fallen, so Samsung will provide panels to Chinese handset manufacturers in the coming time. However, domestic mobile phones have also started to use LCD panels on full-screen mobile phones. This also makes the demand for AMOLED screens decline, and the screen profit of Samsung AMOLED is expected to decline.

OPPO's previously launched Find X phone is equipped with a Samsung AMOLED screen, which is also Samsung's first sale of panels to domestic brands. At the same time, Samsung also hopes to continue to win the favor of Apple. Since Apple's annual mobile phone shipments reached 200 million, it is a big market purchase. Home, so Samsung will still provide AMOLED panels for it, while South Korea's other major panel maker LG Display has confirmed that it will also provide OLED panels for Apple.
