The offer was originally scheduled to expire at 5 pm local time on June 29, but has now been extended to 5 pm local time on July 6. Qualcomm has previously extended the offer period several times.
Foreign media previously reported that Chinese regulators have not approved Qualcomm's $44 billion acquisition of NXP's M&A deal. The acquisition of NXP is a key part of Qualcomm's diversification strategy outside the saturated smartphone market.
Qualcomm issued an offer for NXP Semiconductors in October 2016. NXP is one of the world's largest automotive electronics manufacturers. If successful, the acquisition will be one of the largest transactions in the semiconductor industry's history.
