Apple's latest patent exposure: already used on HomePod

Under normal circumstances, patented products require several years of incubation, waiting for various spare parts, and the software will be brought to the market as a commercial product after the software matures. Even the possible patent will always be a patent. However, the patent submitted by Apple recently is completely contrary to the law. For this reason, in February of this year, the first application was filed with the US Trademarks and Patent Office (USPTO), and the technology described in this patent has already been applied to HomePod.

The name of this patent is 'Structured Fabrics for Electronic Devices' (in fact, it is a structural fabric for electronic devices). Actually, this technology is not original to Apple. In fact, there were many devices that contained such structural elements. Before the dismantling of the iFixit team, we could also see that Apple’s smart speakers had two layers of fabric.

In this patent description, Apple integrates fabrics for electronic devices, including control circuits, output/input devices, and displays. In addition, the patent indicates that the fabric hardness will be high, indicating that Apple is currently not interested in producing clothing. Therefore, the fabric described in the patent is relatively flat, relatively rigid, and easy to interact with electronic devices.
