Nearly double: U.S. wireless operator AT&T increases wireless subscriber monthly bill management fee

Walter Piecyk, an analyst at BTIG Research, pointed out that US wireless carrier AT&T increased wireless users' administrative fees in April and June, adjusting their impact on 64.5 million wireless users. Their wireless users now need to spend $1.99 a month. The management fee, compared with the management fee of approximately $1.23 for the same period last year, increased the user's monthly expenses by 76 cents, which is expected to increase the company's annual revenue by an additional $800 million.

According to reports, about 85% of AT&T wireless subscribers have been affected by management fees adjustments, and post-paid accounts have been charged. However, prepaid subscribers have not been required to pay incremental fees. Since 2013, AT&T Wireless The management fee is increased by 61 cents to 76 cents every few years. Piecyk analyzed that the AT&T revenue increase may be used to offset the recent acquisition of Time Warner's debt for $85.4 billion.

AT&T's response to the media for additional costs is a standard practice in the wireless communications industry 'This is a management fee that is compliant with wireless industry standards and is used to provide costs for the maintenance of base stations and cross-operator interconnections.'
