On February 12, 2018, China's Ministry of Commerce initially imposed anti-dumping results on styrene from South Korea, Taiwan, and the United States. Affected by this, South Korea's imports and exports both contracted, and the number of exports to China fell sharply. The United States to South Korea Styrene also stopped importing. Exports of styrene from Japan to Korea fell, while exports to China accounted for a large increase.

From Table 1, it can be clearly seen that the export volume of styrene in South Korea dropped sharply. Among them, 3029.131 tons of styrene was exported to Japan in May 2018, and the volume of exports to India and Thailand increased. In 2017, South Korea exported styrene 1261869.125. t. From January to May of 2018, the total export of styrene in Korea was 335,378 tons, accounting for 26.58% of the total export volume in 2017, and the export volume declined significantly.

From Table 2, we can see that in 2017 South Korea imported a total of 79,4030.1 tons of styrene. From January to May in 2018, the total import of styrene in Korea was 128409.5 tons, accounting for 16.17% of the total import volume in 2017. Importing countries, Japan and the United States The amount of imports dropped, and Taiwan has ample access to South Korea.

As can be seen from Table 3, the total export of styrene in Japan was 616,982.05 tons in 2017. In January-April 2018, the total export volume of styrene in Japan was 20,8842.2 tons, which accounted for 33.85% of 2017. The amount of styrene exported from Japan to South Korea decreased significantly. The number of exports to China has increased substantially, and it is expected that exports to Taiwan will decrease. China will become the preferred exporter in Japan. However, due to the small output of styrene in Japan and the low export volume, China’s imports from the Middle East have increased.
