On the afternoon of June 20, 2018, Xie Donggang, Executive Director of China Baibai Industrial Park Development Co., Ltd. met with Minister of Transport Latvia Judith Ogles and held a discussion.
During the talks, Xie Donggang welcomed the visit of Oglis and his party. He also briefed the Latvian delegation headed by Minister Augris on the progress of the China-Europe Bangli Group and the China-Industrial Park, regarding the ports of Riga, Latvia and Ventspils and China. The company has fully communicated with the other party in terms of cargo transportation trade, port infrastructure, port management services, trade cooperation, etc. It is hoped that the two sides will have further cooperation in logistics and transportation, industrial connection, and infrastructure.
Minister Orgris introduced Latvia’s geographical advantages and port development, and affirmed the importance of the economic and trade cooperation between the countries along the Belt and Road Initiative in the China-Belarus Industrial Park. It is hoped that the Zhongbai Industrial Park will be able to connect with Latvian ports and develop together. .
At the meeting, Director Xie Donggang and Minister Orgris signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of the China National Park Industrial Development Co., Ltd. and the Ministry of Transport of Latvia. The move aims to promote the establishment of railways, ports, airports and other management departments and the establishment of the Industrial Park in Latvia. The long-term partnership has responded positively to the national 'Belt and Road Initiative' to develop a mutually beneficial and win-win cooperative relationship between China and Latvia.
