Last year, Kristin Dior, a well-known luxury brand, introduced a Diorshow Pump' N' Volume that can squeeze mascara, which greatly facilitates the ladies and gentlemen who like to brush their eyelashes!
The younger sister only needs to squeeze the container gently. The mascara will stick to the brush. Then you can brush out the big eyes that flutter!
The squeezable mascara tube is not easy! 'To achieve a squeezable mascara tube, we are always looking for a material that combines flexibility and aesthetics, and can be processed by multi-component injection molding,' Chris Marion DEFOUR-COLAS, head of cosmetics packaging R&D team of Ting Dior, said.
He said, 'By working with our mascara and packaging experts Mayet and KRAIBURG TPE, we have selected a TPE composite material whose properties fully comply with our application specification requirements.'
According to Marion DEFOUR-COLAS, Dior's squeezable mascara tube body is made by a two-component injection molding process. Its internal structure is a co-polyester material, and its outer surface is made of KRAIBURG TPE.
'For us, the most important point is that TPE composites can achieve the perfect balance between cohesiveness, softness and low hardness of copolyesters while ensuring that mascara containers can be used throughout the product's life cycle. The resilience after multiple repeated extrusions, says Sylvain Coutan, project manager of Mayet SAS, TEXEN Group.
'The modern packaging market puts high demands on the functionality and aesthetics of materials. This is especially true of cosmetics packaging. Cosmetic packaging often has to give consumers a lasting experience through its colorful design and wonderful texture', Kappa Michael Pollmann, Marketing Director, said.
KRAIBURG TPE can provide a comprehensive range of thermoplastic elastomer products, including special composite adhesives. These products have good direct adhesion to thermoplastic polymers (including ABS and polyamide) and can be widely used Automotive, industrial and consumer goods and other fields, even for demanding medical applications.
