KFC, a well-known fast-food chain in Singapore, announced today that it will deactivate plastic caps and straws in all 84 local restaurants from Wednesday (20th). However, the chain fast food restaurant will still provide plastic lids for take-away drinks.
According to KFC's statement, the purpose of deactivating plastic caps and straws is to target the company's 'no suction' environmental protection program, thereby reducing the amount of single-use plastics used in its restaurants by 17.8 metric tons per year.
