South Korea dominates memory, SSD market: Domestic self-industry accelerates catch-up

In the DRAM and NAND markets, South Korea is still the leader in this industry, and it is like a Big Mac.

According to the latest statistics from IHS Markit, South Korea firmly dominates the DRAM and NAND markets. Last year, Samsung accounted for 44.5% of the global DRAM memory chip market in the third quarter, followed by SK hynix with a market share of 27.9%. .

According to revenue, US memory chip maker Micron Technology ranks third in the list, with a market share of 22.9%; China South Asia ranks fourth in technology, with a market share of 2.2%. For the flash memory chip market, Samsung’s third quarter Occupy 39% of the market share; Toshiba followed, with a share of 16.8%; Western Digital ranked third, with a market share of 15.1%. Micron Technology and SK Hynix's share was 11.3% and 10.5%, respectively. Fourth and fifth place.

Although Korean companies are currently in dominance in the DRAM and NAND markets, Samsung is actively investing more and advancing research and development of new technologies because one of their important actions is to fight investment confidence in Chinese semiconductor companies.

At present, domestic memory, SSD, etc. are all in madness, and Samsung’s continued suppression is also a fear of future threats to bring industry leadership.
