According to the location of the business unit, in May, the retail sales of consumer goods in urban areas was 2.6092 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.3% year-on-year; the retail sales of rural consumer goods was 426.7 billion yuan, an increase of 9.6%. From January to May in 2018, China's online retail sales were 3,261,100 million yuan, an increase of 30.7% over the same period of the previous year. Among them, the online retail sales of physical goods reached 248.1 billion yuan, an increase of 30.0%, accounting for 16.6% of the total retail sales of consumer goods; in physical goods online In retail sales, food, clothing, and consumer goods increased by 42.4%, 24.9%, and 30.7%, respectively.

2. Survey object

Legal person enterprises, industrial activity units and self-employed households engaged in commodity retail activities or providing catering services. Among them, units above the designated size refer to wholesale business enterprises (units) with an annual main business income of 20 million yuan and above, and retail sales of 5 million yuan or more. Industrial enterprises (units), accommodation and catering enterprises (units) with a price of 2 million yuan or more.

3. Survey method
