Intel's first discrete graphics product to arrive in 2020

For years, Intel's CPU-integrated 'core graphics' have been plagued by rivals AMD and Nvidia because of weak performance. But recently, the chip giant dug up Raja Koduri of the former Radeon team and appointed it. As the leader of the newly established core and visual computing business unit, it is clear that the company wants to re-attempt to fight in the discrete graphics market of game consoles and data centers.

According to the development cycle of the industry, new products may need to wait for many years to come. However, analyst Ryan Shrout pointed out in the report that Intel plans to release the first (next generation) discrete graphics product in 2020.

At the same time, Intel confirmed the news through the official Twitter account (@Intel News).

Shrout learned of the incident at an analyst briefing hosted by Intel CEO Brian Krzanich and executive vice president of corporate data center division Navin Shenoy.

Sheony confirmed that the company will launch GPU products for the data center and consumer market. As for how strong its product lineup is, it is not yet known, but AMD and Nvidia will obviously feel new pressure.
