Rely on memory advantage: Samsung dominates the global semiconductor market for three consecutive quarters

For Samsung, their leading edge in semiconductors is growing.

According to the latest data from market research firm IHS Markit, Samsung has ranked first in the chip industry for the third consecutive quarter since the third quarter of last year.

In the first quarter, Samsung’s sales in the semiconductor industry was US$18.607 billion, a year-on-year increase of 45.4%, a year-on-year increase of 1.6%, and a market share of 16.1%. Intel’s revenue was US$15.745 billion, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%. Market share was 13.6%.

IC Insights expects that this year's DRAM memory market will grow by 37%. In this market, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron Technology together occupy a 95.4% market share.
