In terms of specifications, Exos uses 8-disc cartridge, PMR (perpendicular magnetic recording) disc, magnetic head is TDMR, single disc capacity 1.75TB. To achieve 2TB per disc, PMR/SMR hopes to be small, the evolution route of Western Digital is MAMR (Microwave-assisted magnetic recording), Seagate is HAMR (Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording).
